The ride
The Gavarres is the range between Girona and the sea, and this ride crosses it three times. Romanyà first, then down and straight back up La Ganga, then Els Àngels from the Madremanya side to finish the job.
Nothing here is long, and that is the trap: eighty-eight kilometres with twelve hundred metres in them, all of it in short, sharp doses that add up a lot faster than you expect.
